In the residential program for adolescents who have committed offenses, male adolescents and young adults go through two stages until their discharge upon reaching the age of majority. The program’s care model is designed to restore these adolescents’ rights, using a comprehensive approach that emphasizes academic catch-up, skills development, and preparation for their transition to adulthood. This process includes close support in recognizing their personal, family, and social achievements, ensuring that they can face the future with greater autonomy and confidence.
One of the most notable characteristics of this population is its interest and motivation to advance in educational programs, with the goal of developing a life plan that will enable them to access legal employment opportunities. This approach seeks not only to improve their quality of life and that of their families, but also to prepare them to assume their roles autonomously and independently within family, institutional, and social contexts, thereby promoting their full integration into society.
